Rich Smolen was born and raised in Edison, New Jersey. Finding a love for golf in his early 20s, Rich decided to relocate to Boynton Beach, Florida. Rich joined the PBC Golf team as a volunteer with in 2008 and after retiring from FedEx he took a part-time position in 2010. He was promoted to Park Ridge's Assistant Manager in 2012, moved over to John Prince Golf Learning Center as the Facility Manager in 2014 and returned to Park Ridge as the Golf Course Manager in April of 2018. Rich prides himself in being a provider of outstanding customer service and strives to achieve excellence no matter what the job takes. He currently resides with his wife paula in Lake Worth and has two daughters, Samantha and Stephanie. Samantha holds the course record at Park Ridge for ladies with a 64 from the blue tees.
Juan Calderon is the Assistant Manager of golf operations at Park Ridge Golf Course in Lake Worth, FL. Juan is home grown here in sunny Florida with roots reaching back to Colombia! At the young age of ten Juan found his new favorite hobby, golf. Just three short years later at the age of thirteen, he decided to start volunteering at beautiful Okeeheelee Golf Course. Flash forward nine years at the very same course, Juan met his beautiful wife. At just nineteen years old, Juan started actively instructing as a PGA apprentice which ultimately led to a full-time career with Palm Beach County in 2013. In the past six years Juan has not only graduated from Palm Beach State College with his Associates Degree in Business Management but he has excelled as a golf shop attendant at Park Ridge, a Lead Clerk with John Prince Golf Learning Center where he received the 2017 Rising Star Award, and is currently the acting Assistant Manager at Park Ridge. Juan’s dedication and ambition has truly shined and he is surely excited to see where his talents take him within Palm Beach County. Juan and his wife welcomed a beautiful baby boy Luke in 2017 and are excited to get a set of clubs in his hands!
A PGA Member originally from Akron, Ohio, Chip graduated with a degree in Business Management from Anderson University, where he played two years of varsity soccer and four years of varsity golf. Upon graduating from the school he also served as the team's assistant coach for one year and has spent time as an Assistant Professional, Head Professional, Teaching Professional and Director of Instruction during his professional career. He spent five years as the Assistant Golf Professional at The Country Club at Muirfield Village, home of The Memorial Tournament. He has also played professionally in more than 50 PGA section events.
